Mission Statement
The mission of Capital Repertory Theatre is to create a meaningful theatre generated from an authentic link to the community.
Capital Repertory Theatre serves as a safehouse for the cultural lives of both artists and the community at large.
The Theatre fosters the belief that the theatre must serve as an advocate and caretaker of the common threads that bind the American culture together in a world that is defined more and more by diversity.
Capital Repertory Theatre strives to bring to life those works that speak to our common cultural heritage as well as new work that expands our perceptions of ourselves and explores new horizons of thought through the medium of theatre.
Artistic Statement
From Maggie Mancinelli-Cahill
The theatre must have an authentic connection to its community to be meaningful. As an advocate and caretaker of a culture defined more and more by diversity, Capital Repertory Theatre strives to bring to life works that speak to the commonality of our heritage. Rather than be bound by any specific aesthetic agenda, the theatre at its best entertains, cajoles and inspires; it enlists its community by providing a wide scope of work drawn from classics, vintage comedy and drama, as well as from new horizons of human thought and expression. It recognizes the mind and imagination as its most powerful ally.
Our proximity to New York City, the Catskill and Berkshire communities, allows access to the highest caliber artists and challenges the company to respond with quality standards in keeping with these sophisticated audience and artistic populations.
