A Season of Seriously Good Theatre

That’s what educators and students can expect from Capital Repertory Theatre’s  Education Season. Either in your venue, or from their seats in theREP’s intimate 286-seat theatre, your students will be guided by brilliant playwrights and some of the nation’s most acclaimed professional stage actors on a voyage of discovery that will deepen their understanding of dramatic literature and the theatrical tradition.

Each production includes a comprehensive study guide that aligns the dramatic experience with core curriculum standards in Language Arts and Theatre, making a performance provided by Capital Repertory Theatre a profound extension of classroom studies.

Student Matinee Performances

Each season, theREP opens its doors to hundreds of students who experience selected theREP productions during the school day. Matinees are followed by an intimate question and answer session with theREP staff and cast members of the production. In addition, one show per season is chosen to be part of theREP's Classics on Stage series, which focuses on producing a work that can be easily integrated into the New York school curriculum.

On-The-Go School Tour Program

Portable professional theatre which can be toured directly into your school building! In response to the needs of Capital Region Schools, theREP has developed a unique touring program that brings professional productions into school buildings eliminating bus costs, travel time and logistical concerns and maximizing the effectiveness of arts in education dollars!

STAR Program

Summer Theatre At the Rep is one of theREP's summer education programs. Each summer, 25 students are accepted into this popular 4-week summer theatre program where they develop, write and perform a show based on a theme. STAR allows students of every experience level to develop their theatre skills.

Acting Intensive

Join us this summer for theREP's brand new program, the Acting Intensive! This intensive one-week program will immerse students in workshops and masterclasses to hone their acting skills and audition techniques. Limited to only 20 students.
