CAST: Cultivating Arts and Students Together

CAST: Cultivating Arts and Students Together
Capital Rep CAST program pairs youth (14 - 19 years of age) with Capital Rep volunteers to give them an in depth and entertaining learning experience about how our volunteers make the show go on! CAST members participate in a training session and volunteer once during each of our six productions in Capital Rep’s season.

TRAINING
CAST members participate in a two-hour training session in the fall. Participants will meet members of Capital Rep’s staff, learn about the role of the House Manager, Company Manager, stage crew and more. They will go on a backstage tour of the Theatre to learn about its history, what happens to prepare for and during performances. They will meet some of Capital Rep’s key volunteers, learn about the various volunteer positions at Capital Rep and learn about what they will be doing on show nights.

PERFORMANCE NIGHT
CAST volunteers have specific assignments as ushers and working as theatre ambassadors. The area they volunteer in will change with each performance. Students watch the performance and return to their respective assignments during intermission and at the conclusion of the performance.
