The Wall Street Journal calls The Seafarer “…a midnight-black comedy, one that wrenches laughter out of the despair of frustrated men.” In Conor McPherson’s Olivier and Tony Award nominated Broadway hit, four old friends gather on Christmas Eve to face the holidays in the drunken fashion they know best. The men find themselves playing a game of cards, with stakes that become damningly high when a stranger arrives. Soon, one of them may be playing for his soul in this chilling — yet surprisingly funny — Irish fable.

Special Events for The Seafarer:

Pay What You Will! - Thursday, October 8, 2009 - One night of discounted theatre, Pay What You Will performances are designed to encourage different community members to experience Capital Rep for the first time, at an affordable rate.Tickets go on sale at 10am and remain available until the show is sold out. There is a limit of four tickets per person. The suggested donation is $5.

Opening Night! - Wednesday, October 14, 2009 - Pre-show entertainment from 6:30 to 7:20PM with a champagne/dessert following the performance. Show begins at 7:30.

Date Night Tuesday - Tuesday, October 20, 2009 - Pre-show music starting at 6:30PM, free hors d'ouevres from area restaurants and socializing with other theatre lovers.

Discussion Nights - Wednesdays, October 21 and 28, 2009 - Join a post-show discussion with the cast, Artistic Director and special guests.

Behind The Scenes With Maggie - Pre-show 30-minute discussion beginning at 1:30PM with light continental brunch (coffee, tea, danish.)

The remainder of the run will be as follows:
Tuesday - Thursday shows at 7:30 p.m.
Friday shows at 8:00 p.m.
Saturday shows at 3:00 p.m.and 7:30 p.m.
Sunday shows at 2:30 p.m.

Group rates are available
