Doubt
Regional Premiere
Gripping & Provocative

June 6 - 29, 2008
by John Patrick Shanley
A riveting exploration of suspicion and paranoia in the Catholic Church.
In 1964, as Vatican II reforms begin to transform the Church, Sister
Aloysius, the principal of a Bronx parochial school, discovers evidence
of inappropriate behavior by the beloved Father Flynn. Should she
openly accuse the priest of his sins or bury her suspicions and live with
the doubt? This Pulitzer Prize winning parable, nominated for 8 Tony
awards, is a provocative mystery that turns on questions of deceit and
redemption, faith and justice. As the playwright delves deeper into the
conflict between nun and priest, the audience is kept in suspense until
the final curtain.
