Striking 12
by Brendan Milburn, Rachel Sheinkin & Valerie Vigoda
December 5-December 31, 2008

"Artfully crafted and engaging" says The New York Times. Based on Hans Christian Anderson's classic fairy tale The Little Match Girl, a grumpy office worker is dead-set upon spending New Year's Eve all by himself, but his plans of solitude are thwarted by an energetic young lady selling mood-boosting holiday lights. This eclectic new musical is co-authored by Rachel Sheinken, the Tony Award-winning writer of The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. With a wonderful pop/rock score that includes songs like "Red and Green (And I'm Feeling Blue)" and "Screwed Up People Make Great Art," it's a deliciously original and uplifting way to pop the cork to 2009!
