Capital Repertory Theatre's Education Programs are specially designed to bring the magic of theatre to the youth of the Capital District. Through varying programs, Capital Rep provides students with an interest in theatre the opportunity to experience it as active participants either as audience members or on-stage. Capital Rep is also dedicated to enhancing the lives of teachers and recognizing their invaluable contributions to our community's future generations through discounts, workshops and awards.

Teen TKTS Club
The Teen TKTS Club of Capital Rep allows teenagers to gain access to Capital Rep's productions for a substantianlly lower ticket price - only $10 on most productions. Anyone 11-18 can join! For more information or to become a member, click here.
On-The-Go School Tour Program
Portable professional theatre which can be toured directly into your school building!
In response to the needs of Capital Region Schools, Capital Rep has developed a unique touring program that brings professional productions into school buildings eliminating bus costs, travel time and logistical concerns and maximizing the effectiveness of arts in education dollars! Student Matinee Performances
Each season, Capital Rep opens its doors to hundreds of students who experience selected Capital Rep productions during the school day. Matinees are followed by an intimate question and answer session with Capital Rep staff and cast members of the production. In addition, one show per season is chosen to be part of Capital Rep's Classics on Stage series, which focuses on producing a work that can be easily integrated into the New York school curriculum. Teacher Recognition Night
Capital Rep recognizes the uniques contributions of local teachers through special ceremonies conducted throughout the season. To nominate an educator who has touched your or your child's life, please click here.
Capital Rep also offers seasonal workshops for educators to meet with colleagues and learn more about the theatre. Workshops are elegible for continuing education credits. To learn about upsoming workshops, click here.
S.T.A.R. Program
Summer Theatre At the Rep is Capital Rep's summer education program. Each summer 30 students are accepted into this popular 5-week summer theatre intensive where they develop, write and perform a show based on an educational theme. Film Trailer Contest
For the 2010 production of To Kill A Mockingbird, Capital Rep introduced a new opportunitiy for area high school students interested in film-making. Local youth were invited to create a film trailer advertising the production. The winning trailer was created by Niskayuna High School student, Christopher Finn and aired on local television stations during the run of the show.
